Usage
- Atorvastatin: Belongs to the statin class of medications.
It works by reducing cholesterol production in the liver, thus lowering
"bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increasing "good" HDL
cholesterol.
- Fenofibrate: This is a fibrate class drug that helps to
decrease triglyceride levels in the blood and improves cholesterol levels by
lowering the amount of fatty substances (lipids) produced by the liver.
Indications
JOYVAS F is primarily prescribed to reduce elevated cholesterol and triglyceride
levels in patients with high cardiovascular risk, those who cannot achieve
optimal lipid levels through diet and exercise alone, and those with mixed
dyslipidemia.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Atorvastatin, Fenofibrate, or any other components of
the medication.
- Liver disease or severe renal impairment.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- Active gallbladder disease.
Side Effects
- Common Side Effects: Nausea, stomach pain or discomfort,
muscle pain or weakness (rare), headache, increased liver enzymes.
